These aerial photos of the "Sheep Herder Hill" fire on Casper Mountain were taken by photographer Brian Weathers along with pilot Larry Earnshaw.Earnshaw, whose family owns two cabins on the east end of Casper Mountain was sure to point out that these photos were taken above 12,600' altitude - clear of the Temporary No-Fly Zone around the fire.

Earnshaw stresses the importance of maintaining a "defensible space" around cabins and properties in high-risk areas.

My family has two cabins Southwest of Crimson Dawn which appear to be saved do to the heroic efforts of the fire fighters.  We had performed defensible space around our cabins several years ago as directed by Brian Anderson of the Wyoming State Forestry.
