Governor-Elect Matt Mead is issuing an open invitation to Wyoming citizens to attend the swearing-in ceremony and reception for the state’s five top elected officials on Jan. 3, 2010. The official transfer of authority to the newly elected officials is scheduled for 10:00 a.m. at the Cheyenne Civic Center. Following that, at 11:30 a.m., the public is invited to a reception at the State Capitol.

Matt Mead will be sworn in as governor, Max Maxfield as secretary of state, Cynthia Cloud as auditor, Joe Meyer as treasurer and Cindy Hill as superintendent of public instruction at the Jan. 3, 10 a.m. ceremony.

In a historic first for Wyoming, the swearing-in ceremonies will be offered on a live webcast. Governor-Elect Mead said, “Inviting all citizens of Wyoming to join the ceremony live from their home computers is a great first step toward connecting people together. I am especially pleased that many schoolchildren will be able to watch from their classrooms.”  The Governor-Elect ranks improving connectivity in the state as one of his highest priorities.
