YELLOWSTONE NATIONAL PARK, Wyo. (AP) — Officials at Yellowstone National Park are reminding the public that the park is closed to hunting.

Hunting seasons are opening on land surrounding Yellowstone. Park officials say that although most of the park boundary is well marked, hunters are responsible for making sure they don't hunt inside.

Federal law prohibits killing any animal or removing any animal, whether it's alive or dead, from the park. The prohibition bans anyone from retrieving animals shot legally outside the park that cross into the park and die.
