CHEYENNE, Wyo. (AP) — Liz Cheney and her husband have just closed on a two-story log home in Jackson Hole, a purchase likely to fuel speculation that the daughter of former Vice President Dick Cheney might have political aspirations in her family’s home state of Wyoming. Liz Cheney lives in Virginia but lately has been appearing at Republican events around Wyoming.

CHEYENNE, Wyo. (AP) — Casper College instructor Chris Henrichsen has filed paperwork to run as a Democrat against Wyoming U.S. Rep. Cynthia Lummis. The political newcomer says he wants to represent the interests of working families. Lummis announced on Monday that she’s seeking a third term as Wyoming’s lone member of the U.S. House of Representatives.

CHEYENNE, Wyo. (AP) — The Environmental Protection Agency has awarded a $200,000 grant to clean up a contaminated sawmill site in the northwest Wyoming town of Dubois. The site is contaminated with benzene, diesel range organics and other petroleum hydrocarbons. The award to Dubois is part of $69.3 million in EPA Brownfields grants provided to 245 communities across the nation.

LARAMIE, Wyo. (AP) — Wyoming senior center Nick Carlson has been named to the 2012 Rimington Trophy spring watch list. The Rimington Trophy is awarded each year to the most outstanding center in college football. Carlson is one of 50 student-athletes being considered for this year’s award.
