Authorities in southwest Wyoming have arrested a man accused of child sex trafficking and human trafficking for the purpose of forced sexual exploitation.

Joseph Moore was arrested on Friday, according a statement to the Evanston Police Department.

Following his arrest, Moore was served with a warrant for four charges: human trafficking of a child, aggravated exploitation of prostitution involving a child, human trafficking for forced sexual exploitation, and aggravated exploitation of prostitution.

The police department says it was notified by Utah law enforcement on Thursday about Moore, who was wanted on that warrant and was believed to believe in the Evanston area.

Evanston police investigated and tried to contact Moore at his Evanston address, but that attempt was unsuccessful.

Authorities watched Moore's residence until Friday morning, and determined Moore was inside his home.

Police secured the surrounding neighborhood in order to ensure the safety of nearby residents. Officers negotiated with Moore, who ultimately surrendered to police at the scene and was arrested.

Moore is being held at the Uinta County Detention Facility, where he awaits a possible return to Utah pending an extradition hearing.
