Strong winds are posing challenges for motorists in southeast Wyoming as of midday Monday.

At last report Interstate 25 was closed between Cheyenne and the Colorado state line, and ''Extreme Blowover Risk'' advisories were in effect all the way from the Colorado line to the Glendo area.

That same stretch of I-25 was closed to light, high profile vehicles because of the high winds.  The same warnings were posted for Interstate 80 all the way from Cheyenne to Elk Mountain.

The Cheyenne office of the National Weather Service also had posted high wind warnings for much of southeastern Wyoming from Cheyenne to Casper (see map below).
