“Heart sick” is the reaction from the University of Wyoming to the apparent related homicides of two individuals, one of the victims was found on the Casper College campus one in a residential neighborhood.  A suspect is also dead in the case of an apparent suicide.

Chad Baldwin, spokesperson for the University of Wyoming says that the thoughts and prayers of the University go out to the people and victims in Casper.

“Our outreach school dean, Maggi Murdock has been in contact with UW/CC faculty and staff,” Baldwin said.  ”We wanted to make sure they were okay.  They are.  We’re receiving updates.”

Casper College alumni and current UW student Sean Coyle says the news came as a surprise.

“I heard a little about it through facebook,” Coyle said.  ”It’s really sad.  The time I spent in Casper, the two years and the last four summers, it’s always been a safe community.  There wasn’t any idea of a threat.”  Coyle expressed being confused and sad about the events.

Another Laramie resident and Casper College alumni, Jason Niedbalski said he was shocked.  ”I feel like I’m in a dream state.  It’s weird.  I’m very concerned, I still have professors that I talk with on campus.  It’s shocking to say the least.  My thoughts and prayers go out to the families, Casper College, professors and students.”

Chad Baldwin went on to say that there was no increased security on the UW Campus.  ”Early indications from Casper were that this was an incident limited to there, and there was no increased danger anywhere but there.  While certainly campus police have some heightened attention to things, there was no increased security here, again, because there was no indication went beyond what happened in Casper.”
