The Laramie County Sheriff's Office has identified 19-year-old Justin Robinson as the man whose body was found in a reservoir on the Wyoming Hereford Ranch Sunday afternoon.

Sheriff's spokeswoman Capt. Linda Gesell says the Cheyenne man died from a single gunshot to the head.

"The manner of death is being treated as a homicide," said Gesell. "We're trying to piece together why he was dumped in the area."

Deputies were responding to a report of a burned vehicle on Burlington Trail Road when they spotted Robinson's body floating near the shoreline.

"We're still trying to determine if the gunshot heard up at the 7600 block of Braehill Road in the early morning hours of Nov. 26 is connected to the vehicle that was found burnt," said Gesell.

"We are trying to find a good VIN number," she added. "The obvious ones have been burnt and scorched, so we only have partials."

Gesell says blood and a Smith and Wesson .40 caliber handgun that was stolen in a burglary in Cheyenne were found at the scene of the reported shooting.

"We do not know if that is his (Robinson's) blood, that's going to take some time," said Gesell. "The gun that was recovered is going to be processed for fingerprints."

As of this time, no arrests have been made in connection with Robinson's death.
