Two men were arrested over the weekend after allegedly damaging property on the construction site of the new dorm at Casper College.

Officers responded to a call from campus police on Sunday morning around 5 am to the area of McIntyre Hall.

According to the police affidavit, 19-year-old Brandon McKeown and 20-year-old Michael Babich were seen breaking a window and a 40-pound landscaping rock. They also allegedly removed numerous rocks from a rock wall and broke them as well.

When officers attempted to place Babich in handcuffs he resisted and tried to put his hands underneath his body. According to police documents, officers then had to pin him on the ground and place him under arrest-during which time, police could smell a strong odor of alcohol.

At his initial appearance in Circuit Court Monday, Babich pleaded guilty to trespassing, property damage and being a minor under the influence. Babich pleaded not guilty to disturbing the peace and interference for resisting arrest.  Judge Steven Brown set bond at 750 cash or surety.

Assistant District Attorney Mike Schafer said the sentencing for the charges Babich pleaded guilty to will likely be after the hearing of the charges still pending.
