According to a Highway Patrol release, an eastbound vehicle was stopped for following too close.
After contact with the driver, 20-year-old Ian Knoop, of Colorado Springs, the trooper called in a Carbon County Sheriff’s K-9 unit to do an open air sniff around the vehicle.
The drug detection dog alerted and a subsequent search discovered five duffel bags containing 59 vacuum sealed bags of marijuana, for a total weight of about 68 pounds.
Knoop was arrested and charged with felony possession of a controlled substance with intent to deliver. Agents of the Wyoming Division of Criminal Investigation were called into the case. The estimated street value of the marijuana seized is 408,000 dollars.
