The driver of a tractor-trailer died last Friday after one of his tires blew out, causing his truck to roll multiple times in Carbon County.

Fredy Monroy, 31, of California, was northbound on WY 220 at 1:10 p.m. near milepost 50 when the front passenger-side steer tire blew and lost inflation.

The Wyoming Highway Patrol says Monroy lost control of the vehicle, which left the roadway to the south and went into the borrow ditch.

The truck rolled multiple times before going through a fence and coming to rest on its top.

Monroy died, despite wearing his seatbelt.

Weather was clear and the road was dry at the time of the crash. The crash is listed as the result of an equipment failure.
