Even friends in high places couldn't save House Bill 220, a corporate income tax bill that would have targeted large, out of state companies like Walmart.
Bill sponsor Rep. Cathy Connolly [D-laramie] said she was bringing up the income tax as an alternative to a proposal to reinstate a state sales tax on groceries.
Rammel admits that since property taxes mostly go to fund schools and local government operations, 'there would have to be adjustments at the county level.'
