Chief Walsh offers apology

Juneteenth, a celebration of freedom, goes all the way back to the 1800′s. The Emancipation Proclamation gave slaves freedom in 1863, but in Texas it was another 2 1/2 years before slaves were actually set free. As the slaves began a new way of life, June 19th was the day they chose to celebrate their new found freedom, thus beginning the Juneteeth Holiday...

On a 4-3 vote Casper City Council, Thursday agreed to bring to public hearing a change to city ordinance that would create restrictions on the open carry of weapons in city meetings.

The Casper Police Department is proposing a change to malt beverage permitting.  City law enforcement would like to establish a code that provides an option to deny or revoke a malt beverage permit. The proposal came before city council this week. Listen here,

The 10th anniversary of 9/11. In order to not conflict with churches who have plans to observe the day with prayers and in other appropriate ways, is the reason this event is being held on the 10th.
