JACKSON, Wyo. (AP) — State officials have approved a $250,000 grant to begin to improve an events center at Snow King Resort in Jackson.

The town of Jackson will match the funding recently approved by the State Loan and Investment Board. The Associated Press reports that renovations could begin in September with the $500,000 in new funding.

Jackson Town Manager Bob McLaurin says initial improvements will include a new entrance, new carpet and restroom renovations.

Additional improvements a couple years from now could include more conference rooms and a second ice rink.

The events center can accommodate up to 2,500 people. The Wyoming Business Council recommended the initial grant, saying it could draw more conventions to Snow King.
