One person has been charged in connection to a deadly weekend crash north of Casper.

Twenty-seven-year-old Ryan Nordstrom of Michigan has been charged with one count of aggravated vehicular homicide in the death of Daniel Barto, of Butte, Montana.

According to the Wyoming Highway Patrol, at around 3 PM on Saturday October 20th, troopers were called to a two-vehicle crash on I-25 about 25 miles north of Casper.

Witnesses told troopers that Nordstrom had been driving southbound in a reckless manner, speeding and weaving his way in and out of traffic.

Investigators say he rear-ended a vehicle driven by Barto, who was traveling with his wife and two children.

Investigators found a pipe and some suspected burnt spice in Nordstrom's vehicle, however Nordstorm says he uses the pipe to burn incense.

Troopers are waiting for blood and urine tests to determine if Nordstorm was driving while impaired.

Nordstorm is being held on $50,000 bond awaiting trial, and could receive up to 20 years in prison if convicted.
