A Casper man is being held without bond for stalking.

28-year old Rodolfo Barranco has been charged with 1 felony count of stalking along with misdemeanor charges of violation of a protection order, leaving the scene of an accident and interference.

According to Casper Police, back on Thursday November 24th, officers received a call from Guadalupe Jimenez who said she was contacted by Barranco saying he was going to burn her house down.

Jimenez told police she has known Barranco from an earlier incident when he tried to rape her in Colorado.

After receiving the call, officers later found a vehicle that Barranco was in, while it was circling the neighborhood where Jiminez lived on North Beverly Street.

Ashort chase ensued, resulting in Barranco crashing his car into a chain link fence.

He then tried to flee on foot, but police were able to catch up to him.

Barranco then tried to provide officers with a false name, but Jimenez was able to identify him.

Police later found a 3-year protection order from Colorado issued a year ago, ordering Barranco to stay away from Jiminez.

Barranco is being held at the Natrona County Dentention Center without bond and is also facing additional charges from Colorado.
