A Casper man has admitted to stalking a person that he once tried to rape.

Twenty-Eight year old Rodolfo Barranco has changed his plea to guilty on one count of stalking.

According to Casper police, in November, they received a call from Guadalupe Jimenez, who said she was contacted by Barranco, saying he was going to burn her house down.

Jimenez told officers she had known Barranco from an earlier incident, when he tried to rape her in Colorado.

Police found Barranco circling around the neighborhood near Jimenez's home.

After his arrest, officers found a three-year protection order from Colorado issued a year ago, ordering Barranco to stay away from Jiminez.

Barranco could face up to four years in prison, and he is also facing additional charges from Colorado.

The U.S. Immigration Department is also checking on his citizenship status.
