UPDATE: Rocky Mountain Power says that electricity was restored on the mountain at roughly 3pm Sunday.

Most of the state escaped serious power problems in the wake of the rainfall over this weekend. But one exception is Casper Mountain.

Rocky Mountain Power reports that at 10:30 Saturday night, they got a report that 422 customers on the mountain had lost power. Residual snow and falling tree limbs have made the restoration next to impossible overnight.

Crews were sent up, and the number of outages was cut to 318. But it wasn’t until 6am Sunday that crews were able to get back up the mountain to resume work.

There is no reliable estimate on when power will be completely restored.

The outage has had an effect on Townsquare Media and others since many transmitters and towers are located on the mountain.

We'll update this story as soon as Rocky Mountain Electric has a firm ETA on repairs.
