Multiple agencies responded this morning to an airplane crash on Interstate 80 east of Laramie, Wyoming. The crash happened around 7:50 this morning approximately four miles east of Laramie.

The single engine Ercoupe registered out of Davis, California went down in a canyon section of I-80 commonly known as "Telephone Canyon". The pilot, 67 year old Steven Stam from Holland, Michigan has been taken to Ivinson Memorial Hospital in Laramie.

WHP Troopers are still out with the plane continuing the investigation and securing the scene for the Federal Aviation Administration. Interstate 80 is open in both directions.

The Wyoming Highway Patrol, the Albany County Sheriff's Office, the Laramie Fire Department and the Wyoming Department of Transportation all responded to assist with the crash.
