The Casper Police Department responded to a bomb threat at a Family Dollar Store this afternoon.

They have issued this statement on this and other threats that have been phoned in in the last few days.

"Local Law Enforcement has received three bomb threat incidents in the last few days. The threats have been called into The Home Depot, Family Dollar and the Loaf and Jug, located on Salt Creek Highway. These bomb threats appear to be a scam, attempting to extort money out of the business, with the threat to blow up the establishment if the items are not provided. While this appears to be a nationwide scam, local law enforcement does not take these types of incidents lightly and will fully investigate each event, while continuing to take all precautions to protect the public."
