Natrona County Law Enforcement Units To Apply For Grants

Law enforcement units in Natrona County plan to apply for financial assistance to upgrade some equipment.

Officials with the Casper Police Department say they intend to apply for a Justice Assistance Grant for nearly $25,000, to be divided equally between their agency and the Natrona County Sheriff's Office.

If approved, CPD plans to use its share of the grant funds to upgrade evidence gathering equipment and provide training to officers.

The Sheriff's Office intends to purchase equipment to support its watercraft and rifles.

There will be a public hearing on the issue on Wednesday, July 24th at 10:30 am, in the lobby of the Hall Of Justice.
