Montana Fugitive Arrested After Chase in Powell
POWELL, Wyo. (AP) — A fugitive from Montana is behind bars after being found working at a ranch in Powell.
The Park County Sheriff's Office says 57-year-old Gary Hansen of Great Falls, Mont. was apprehended Tuesday afternoon.
Hansen ran when deputies arrived at the ranch and they chased him for over a mile. At one point, deputies said he stopped and held a knife to his chest but later told them he never intended to take his own life.
Hansen is described as a transient and is wanted in Montana's Cascade County for sexual assault and obstructing a police officer.
He's being held in the Park County jail and is due to appear in court Thursday morning.
