A suspect involved in an auto crash that claimed the life of a 38-year-old Casper man now faces a felony charge of Driving Under the Influence.

According to paperwork from the Natrona County Sheriff's Office, 33-year-old Tracy Reuben-Leon Matekovic was arrested the night of December 9th, following a vehicle collision at the intersection of US Higway 20/26 and North 6 Mile Road in Natrona County.

Investigators on scene believe that Matekovic was driving a 2013 white Chevrolet 2500 truck, when he collided with a 1998 Ford Mustang.  The driver of the Mustang, Chris Sanders, was declared dead at the scene of the crash.

Matekovic made an initial appearance in circuit court on Monday, where he was formally charged with a felony count of Driving Under the Influence.  Investigators say that Matekovic was showing signs of intoxication at the time of the crash.

During court proceedings, Natrona County Assistant District Attorney Randall Carnahan did mention to the judge that the driver of the other car was deceased and that further charges may yet be brought against Matekovic in the case.

Matekovic is currently in custody awaiting a $25,000 cash or surety bond.
