A man apparently killed himself near Rotary Park on Friday, according to Natrona County Sheriff's Lt. Mike Steinberg.

The sheriff's office received a call at 11:50 a.m. about a suicidal person somewhere in the county, Steinberg said.

Deputies searched in the late morning and early afternoon and eventually found the vehicle, which had tinted windows and a sunshade in the front window.

Because the person was possibly armed, the Sheriff's Office called in a Special Response Team to try to make contact. The team eventually entered the vehicle and found a person with a self-inflicted gunshot wound, Steinberg said.

The park has been closed as the investigation continues.
