A Laramie woman has been sentenced for taking money from her employer when she was in Casper.

Laura Meyer was given a thirty to forty eight month suspended prison sentence and three years of supervised probation, after pleading guilty to one count of larceny.

According to prosecutors, the law firm of Winship and Winship in Casper, told law enforcement that several times in August and September of 2010, various payments from clients were never deposited at the bank, and that Meyer was the one who was supposed to make the deposit.

In October, Meyer quit her job as a receptionist for the law firm, and then the office manager suspected that something was going on about one month later, when bank records did not match what the law firm had recorded.

Law enforcement then set up an interview with Meyer, but when the time came, she did not show up.

It was later determined that she had moved to Laramie.

Meyer has also been ordered to reimburse the law firm about twenty three-hundred dollars.
