CHEYENNE, Wyo. (AP) — A district judge is considering whether to dismiss a media lawsuit challenging the closure of court proceedings for a man accused of kidnapping and sexually abusing a Glenrock girl.

District Judge Keith Kautz of Torrington has set a telephonic hearing on the case for Monday afternoon.

The Wyoming Attorney General's Office has asked Kautz to dismiss a lawsuit filed by the Wyoming Press Association, several Wyoming newspapers and The Associated Press.

The media organizations are challenging a circuit court judge's decision to close initial court proceedings in the prosecution of a 22-year-old Robert J. Parks of Casper. Parks has pleaded not guilty to charges of kidnapping and sexual abuse in the girl's May 19 abduction.
