A Casper man is admitting that he did not let his ex-wife out of his vehicle while driving around Casper Mountain and arguing.

Thirty-six year old Jeremy Sulzen has pleaded guilty to one felony charge of kidnapping, and one misdemeanor charge of domestic battery.

Investigators with the Casper Police Department say in November 2014, Sulzen and his ex-wife had been drinking at a party.

The two were still living together, even though they were divorced.

At one point during the party, Sulzen became jealous that his ex-wife was dancing with other guys.

During the drive home, Sulzen, who was driving, claims that his ex-wife grabbed him by the throat, and he responded by hitting her with a back hand to the side of her face, but the victim claims he was yelling at her, and took her phone.

Sulzen then drove up Casper Mountain, where his ex-wife tried to exit the vehicle a number of times, but she was pulled back in and the vehicle would then accelerate afterwards.

Sulzen claimed that his ex-wife wanted to kill herself, and was preventing her from doing so.

A friend of the ex-wife told investigators that she had briefly overheard on a cell phone conversation, that Sulzen was going to kill his ex-wife, and Sulzen admitted to saying that, but added he had said stuff like that before, and that his ex-wife knew it was a joke and that he never meant it.

The ex-wife said she was very afraid for her life.

He eventually dropped off his ex-wife back in Casper, and detectives later found stands of hair, where his ex-wife was seated in the vehicle.

As part of a plea deal, prosecutors will seek a suspended prison sentence and a term of probation for the kidnapping charge.

Both sides are free to argue for whatever sentence they feel is appropriate, for the domestic battery charge.

Sulzen is free on $10,000 bond and will be sentenced at a later date.
