A Casper man has been sentenced after hitting his girlfriend with a pick up truck.

James Hardman was sentenced to one year in jail, with all but thirty days suspended, and one year of supervised probation, after pleading guilty to one count of reckless endangerment.

According to Casper police, sometime in the early morning hours back on Saturday December 10th, Hardman and his girlfriend, Heather Montanye. were leaving a holiday party at the Elks Lodge in Casper, when they got into an argument.

Hardman then got into Montanye's pick-up truck and drove it to the front of the lodge.

Montanye was then standing by the driver's side door, talking to Hardman, who then got angry about something, stepped on the gas and knocked Montanye to the pavement.

Montanye was taken to the Wyoming Medical Center, where it was determined that she had a bone fracture in her pelvis area along with abrasions on her left elbow, right knee, and what appeared to be a tire mark on her left hand.

She could not remember if the truck had run her over, or had simply knocked her down, but told the judge it was accidental.

Hardman said during the party he had taken advantage of the open bar.
