Police in Converse County and Natrona County say they’ve received reports of someone removing the tails of horses near the Glenrock, Douglas and Casper areas.

The sheriff’s office in Converse County says the tails are being harvested only for horse hair and the person or people involved are not cutting through the lower vertebrae of the affected horses.

Both sheriff’s offices are investigating and ask horse owners to be mindful of suspicious activity. Officials in both counties also ask those who have more information to call either the Natrona County Sheriff’s Office at (307) 235-9282 or the Converse County Sheriff’s Office at (307) 358-4700.
