All lanes of I-25 are now open after a tractor-trailer tanker crash earlier this morning two-miles north of Wheatland. The crash forced the closure of both lanes of the interstate between Wheatland and Douglas for a good portion of the day. According to Highway Patrol Spokesman Sgt. Stephen Townsend the driver went to miss a deer which caused him to lose control, leaving the  highway going into the median and roll one and half times resting in the southbound lane. Townsend said that the tanker was carrying 8,400 gallons of crude oil, of which approximately 800 gallons leaked out, most of it in the southbound lane. The crash remains under investigation.
