GREEN RIVER, Wyo. (AP) — Lawmakers in Green River are moving to ban the use of bow and arrows within city limits.

City councilors gave initial approval to the proposal this week.

The Rock Springs Rocket-Miner (http://bit.ly/tXytdx ) reports that councilman Gene Smith was the only person to oppose it. He said no one has complained about anyone shooting arrows in their backyards and called the ordinance a waste of time.

Councilwoman Lisa Maes said it's already illegal to use a sling-shot or air rifle in town so it makes sense to also ban the use of bows and arrows.
