JACKSON, Wyo. (AP) — Wildlife officials confirm that a gray wolf was spotted passing through a suburban subdivision outside Jackson Monday.

The Jackson Hole Daily reports that the lone wolf was spotted by at least four people and didn't cause any problems as it trotted by the Melody Ranch neighborhood.

Nancy Hoffman says the wolf came within about 10 feet of her living room window and called the sighting a "blessing."

A spokesman for the Wyoming Game and Fish Department, Mark Gocke, says its tracks led toward the Snake River in the general direction of the South Park Feedground.

Wolf sightings in developed neighborhoods aren't common but not unheard of.

At least one wolf in a pack that frequented another area subdivision in 2012 was killed by federal officials after the pack injured a dog.
