Gillette police say two teen boys have admitted to breaking into dozens of vehicles in the area over the past six months.

The Gillette News-Record reports that officers investigating several break-ins of vehicles in a tavern parking lot Sunday followed footprints to a home where they found the teens. Police say the boys, ages 17 and 16, allegedly admitted to thefts of bags, purses, electronics, tennis rackets, fishing poles and other items since July 1.

Officers estimate from information provided by the teens that they may have damaged more than 200 vehicles overall.
