UPDATE: Fire Erupts At Landfill On Saturday Evening

Casper Fire EMS is currently on scene at the bale fill working a significant fire in a wood chip pile, according to a news release Saturday evening.

Casper Fire-EMS is being assisted by the Natrona County Fire Protection District and Evansville Fire-EMS.

Other city crews from the bale fill are helping fight the fire. They are operating equipment moving other piles to reduce risk of ignition of additional materials.

Fire crews are focusing on limiting spread the spread of the fire to grassy areas outside the facility.

The fire is visible from locations in the city and may become increasingly visible after sundown.
