A small fire this morning has led a Casper restaurant to close for the day.

Emergency responders received the call just after ten o'clock Friday morning, reporting a structure fire at the Fire Rock Steakhouse in East Casper.

"The alarm system was operating properly when we got here," explains Jason Parks, public information officer for Casper Fire EMS.  "All of the employees had evacuated the building."

Fire fighters, upon arrival, say they observed smoke and flames in the restaurant's roof area.  Further investigation showed that the fire was contained mainly to the ducting and hood vent system.

Parks says that the fire was extinguished in about ten minutes, with minimal damage to the building.

A restaurant manager, on-site, says that the restaurant would be closed Friday, and would be reopening the following day.
