The final report on Wyoming Education Governance will be considered by the Wyoming Legislature’s Joint Education Committee at its Dec. 10-11 meeting in Jackson. The final report is available on the Legislature’s Website.

At the conclusion of the 2014 Budget Session, the Legislature’s Management Council directed the Joint Education Committee to review the State’s administration of public education during the 2014 interim and prior to the 2015 General Session.

As part of this process, the Committee utilized the professional services of the educational consulting firm, Cross & Joftus to assist with the development of this study. The goal of the Committee’s work is to identify the steps to develop a more effective allocation of state-level responsibilities supporting the delivery of a high-quality public education system in Wyoming.

Cross & Joftus conducted a series of discussions with education, business and civic stakeholders throughout the state. In addition, consultants solicited public comment through an online survey and held public hearings throughout Wyoming during the interim. This input has been included in the final report.

Cross & Joftus will brief Committee members on the study’s findings and recommendations at the Dec. 10-11 meeting. Public comment on the final report will be taken at this meeting and may also be submitted to Committee members in advance.
