A Casper man is accused of taking money from a gas station.

Clarence Sifore has pleaded not guilty to one charge of theft.

Investigators with the Casper Police Department say through interviews with a witness, and from watching surveillance camera video, in middle April, two people entered the Loaf 'N Jug gas station on North Center Street.

One person started talking with the cashier, while Sifore went into the office and took a bag with more than $2,700 cash in it.

The accomplice distracted the cashier so that she couldn't look towards the office, to see what was going on.

Police eventually found Sifore, and the cashier was able to identify him in a photo line-up.

There is no indication if any of the money has been recovered.

Sifore is awaiting trial on $3,000 bond, and could face up to 10 years in prison if convicted.

The accomplice has also been charged in connection with this case.
