No action, decision or discussion so far on the fate of the Municipal Golf Course in Casper. A number of options are on the table from, do nothing, to, refurbish and add a Three Par Course. A consultant hired by the city came back, last month, with a recommendation to city officials that they sell off the course, with it's valuable in-town real estate, and consolidate operations with Three Crowns introducing a par three course there.

Doug Follick, leisure services director for the city of Casper, says to do that would need a council majority and he doesn't think that will happen.

"I personally don't believe that your gonna get five elected officials that are gonna come together and close it. Almost every city, every city that I know of in Wyoming, has a municipal course, and Three Crowns does not meet the municipal standard."

Selling eight acres to the school district is part of all options being considered. The eight acre sale would be used by the school district for expansion of Grant Elementary and would provide some of the funding needed for refurbishments at the course.
