A Casper man now admits that he asked for a friend’s help in a scheme to damage an ex-girlfriend’s car.

Robert Turner appeared in front of a judge in Natrona County District Court on Friday. He pleaded guilty to one count of solicitation to commit property damage.

Prosecutors say Turner, while out of Wyoming, attempted to orchestrate an arson plot with a friend in Casper after Turner’s long-time girlfriend ended a two-and-a-half-year relationship.

In court, Turner said he would have paid the friend $650 to set fire to the ex-girlfriend’s car.

A pair of arson-related charges were dropped in the plea agreement.

Turner faces up to 10 years in prison. Sentencing will take place at a later date.
