In the Denver Broncos media guide, Zane Beadles is listed at 6’4″ and 305 lbs. He is an anchor of the offensive line that has protected Peyton Manning for the last 2 years. He was a Pro Bowler in 2012. He is headed to Superbowl 48 at the Metlife stadium in New Jersey and he was born in Casper, Wyoming in 1986.

The family moved and as Zane grew he became a standout on the gridiron. He was a 3 year starter at Hillcrest High School in Midvale, Utah. He was recruited by both Utah and Wyoming for his collegiate career and had an outstanding run with Utah that included an undefeated season that concluded with a Sugar Bowl victory over Alabama. Zane became the fourth Ute offensive lineman–and the 14th Ute ever–to earn first-team All-America honors as well as many other accomplishments during his college career.

Zane was projected to go high in the 2010 NFL draft and did. He was picked by the Denver Broncos in the 2nd round on the 45th pick and started for the Broncos in the 2010 season. He has competed in 62 of the 64 games since with a Pro Bowl appearance and the respect of his teammates and opponents.

Zane comes from a sports-oriented extended family. His father, Brad Beadles, played baseball for the Casper Oilers and at Hutchinson Junior College. His stepmother, Jill, started at point guard for Concordia Lutheran, which qualified for the NAIA Final Four in 1993-94. His mother, Jamie Legerski, played basketball for Wyoming. His stepfather, Joe Legerski, is the women’s basketball coach at Wyoming and a former Utah assistant. We visited with his dad live from New York ,

The family still has ties to Casper and many friends and relatives will be cheering on the Broncos with a thought to the young man who was born here and represents his family so well.

Here is a look at Zane’s appearance on Ellen last week.
