The 2012 New Year has started out a bit dark on some Central Wyoming Television sets.

DISH Satellite customers in Central Wyoming, can no longer view ABC, CBS and FOX stations out of Casper...also known as K2 Television (KTWO), along with KGWC and KFNB.

The deal between these stations and DISH satellite expired on January 1st.

So far, only customers in Natrona, Converse, and Fremont Counties have been affected, but there may be more.

DISH Satellite customers in Central Wyoming wanting to view any of these stations, received this message instead:

“This station has blocked this channel after making outrageous rate demands. DISH made numerous attempts to avoid interruption of service to our valued customers including offering an extension. This offer was flatly refused. DISH Network remained available to negotiate over the holiday weekend but the station, unconcerned about its viewers, refused to even answer the phone.”

Representatives from the Casper-area ABC, CBS, and FOX stations could not be reached for comment.

KCWY, the NBC affiliate in Casper, is not involved in this situation.
