Trains replace covered wagons as the main attraction at an interactive display on through December at the the National Historic Trails Interpretive Center .

Trails Center Interpreter, Alex Rose, says they're bringing back the popular show that premiered last year and attracted lots of folks who enjoyed the chance to reconnect with the model trains of their youth.

"One thing I really enjoyed about the exhibit, in particular, was the seniors, the older folks, the grandparents that came here bringing their grandkids making that connection. There's a lot of seniors that remember playing with trains when they were kids and that's something they can share with their grand children, which is nice. We saw a lot of that last December."

The Central Wyoming Model Railroad Association presents this hands-on show with four models representing both coal-powered trains and diesel locomotives. Rose says model train club volunteers will be on hand to demonstrate train operation.

The model train show will be open Thursday - Saturday every week of December.
