A Rigby, Idaho man has been charged with vehicular homicide following a fatal crash five miles west of Pine Bluffs yesterday (Wednesday) afternoon.

The Wyoming Highway Patrol says 45-year-old Jaysen Thompson was driving a semi westbound on Interstate 80 when he rear-ended an SUV.

Twenty-four-year-old Kacie Ketchum of Helena, Montana, a passenger in the SUV, was not wearing her seat belt and died on scene.

The driver of the SUV, 24-year-old Bryan Silverthorn of Columbus, Ohio, was taken to Cheyenne Regional Medical Center and another passenger, 24-year-old Kayla Lemmings of Billings, Montana, was flown to Regional West Medical Center in Scottsbluff, Nebraska.

Thompson was not injured in the crash.

The Patrol says distracted driving and following too close may be to blame for the crash.
