Wild fire

The release stated that the cause and origin of the fire, as determined by the Natrona County Interagency Fire Investigation Taskforce, was fireworks.

Casper Fire-EMS provided an update on the grass fire that occurred in the Wolf Creek subdivision of West Casper on Wednesday night.

A fire burning on the Shoshone National Forest has grown to more than 900 acres in size, but officials say containment has also grown to 30%.

The fire began at roughly 2:30 p.m. Friday. The cause is unknown.

There are many fires burning in different parts of the state today, here are updates on three of the larger fires starting with The Hole in the Wall fire north of Clark which has burned nearly 4500 acres as of Thursday.  A higher level fire team has taken over management of that fire.  Beth Hermanson is the information officer and she says they're estimating 10%  containment as of about 3 pm. The wildfire season seems well on its way down in Colorado where another fire this weekend destroy homes west of Fort Collins. Federal wildfire experts are preparing for the season with a new wild-land fire prevention and management plan.
