The task force will prepare proposals for events and activities as part of the 2026 celebration.

Gov. Mark Gordon said he was proud to highlight the role these individuals play in our schools and recognize their service to our education community.

Jillian Balow was elected to the Wyoming Superintendent of Public Instruction post in 2014 and 2018.

Republicans Megan Degenfelder, of Laramie, and Jennifer Zerba, of Casper, are taking on recently appointed State Superintendent Brian Schroeder.

"We will miss her experience and expertise," Governor Gordon said. "She has worked to improve our state’s education system, and I thank her for her efforts. Her service to the State has been exemplary, and I wish her well in her new role.”

The school districts had to submit their adapted learning plans by April 6 or else lose state funding.

Each school district must have an Adapted Learning Plan approved by the Department of Education before April 6 to continue to receive state funding.

Six Republicans and four Democrats are seeking their parties' nominations for Wyoming governor.

The amended version would give the five statewide elected officials raises of $8,000 each.
