The federal Centers for Disease Control has issued a food safety alert for Gold Medal Flour after a multi-state salmonella outbreak was linked to the product.
Officials with the Wyoming Department of Health [WDH] are warning people about salmonella and other diseases which can be carried by baby chicks, even when the birds may appear to be healthy.
Deti says the problem appears to be limited to daycare and preschool attendees, adding that there is no evidence at this time the illnesses are related to school meals.
