Even if the rate hike is approved, a Black Hills Energy spokeswoman says customers can expect to pay less for antural gas compared to last year.

During Tuesday's Casper City Council meeting, Mayor Bruce Knell discussed what as become an ongoing situation related to high gas bill prices.

Fornstrom has served on the commission for the past seven years. She was first appointed to her position by former Governor Matt Mead in March 2013 and was reappointed by Governor Gordon in 2019.

Suppliers of electricity, natural gas and telephone services cannot discontinue service.

As part of its Energy Vision 2020 initiative, Rocky Mountain Power is looking to significantly expand the amount of wind-generated power in its portfolio.

For the average residential customer using 733 kilowatt hours per month, this means you will pay about $15.36 a year less for electricity.

A public hearing on the most recent electricity rate hike request from Rocky Mountain Power takes place Thursday, June 2nd, in Casper. The Public Service Commission hosts this opportunity to ask questions and make comments. Rocky Mountain Power's original request was for 98 million. That's been scaled back to about 80-million dollars. The hike could boost residential customer bills by 12 dollars
