A house fire that occurred in Casper on Wednesday has displaced its residents, along with their pets.

Video shows a house on fire in west Casper that caused enough damage to displace the occupants. Occupants were not home at the time of the fire, and pets were rescued, including a dog that was rescued by a neighbor through a window.

According to a news release from the Casper Fire-EMS, crews responded to the scene of a structure fire at approximately 6:17 p.m.

"This community supports us so well, we want to give back to those in need to help make sure our #CasperCritters are well cared for," the post stated.

Animal Protection Officer services are available over the phone.

The Platte River Trail through the park will remain open to the public.

Amid an avalanche of bad news, stories of people fostering pets are prompting smiles.
