Optional One Cent

The Casper City Council discussed at their Tuesday meeting the results of a survey on how likely citizens are to support extending the one-cent tax.

It's election day in Natrona County and some people may be unsure as to where they can go to vote.

Only one group received all it wanted, a few received close to what they asked, but most received much less.

The city council will deal briefly with these issues at its work session next Tuesday, and will vote whether to approve the funding on Oct. 2.

Three requests from local nonprofits were deemed legally ineligible for Optional One-Cent Sales Tax funding.

The largest request was from the Casper Area Transportation Coalition for $1.7 million.
