According to a release from the City, rumors have been circulating in Natrona County stating that Mills has halted plans for building or development in the city.
Gordon said, "Enacting a moratorium at a moment when coal is badly needed to ensure a secure and reliable energy supply is wrong-headed on many fronts."
Governor Mark Gordon has recently responded to the release from the Department of the Interior on Friday in which they report on federal oil and gas leasing and permitting.
“The current de facto leasing moratorium is bad policy for Wyoming and contrary to law,” Governor Gordon said. “This is a key action to protect the interests of Wyoming and her people.”
While Cheney has her share of vocal detractors, she does have support from various communities and industries in Wyoming. One of those industries is the Wyoming Mining Association.
House Republicans, including Wyoming Congresswoman Liz Cheney (R-WY), have banded together to formulate a letter that they have sent President Joe Biden, regarding his planned moratorium on leasing and permitting drilling on public land.
